Flutist Anita Rieder teaches aspiring flutists of all ages. She believes in sharing the joy of music whether you are a beginner learning fingerings or advanced flutist preparing for auditions. She earned a Doctor of Music degree in Flute Performance from Northwestern University where she studied with Walfrid Kujala of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In addition to traditional teaching, she founded the first Suzuki Flute Schools in the Chicago area and studied the Suzuki method in Matsumoto, Japan.
Anita serves on the board of the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra and directs a chamber music series at Trinity Episcopal Church in Excelsior. She performs with the Bach Society of Minnesota, La Grande Bande, Just Bach Concerts, and the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra.
Anita has judged high school solo and ensemble competitions and has taught flute at the Universities of Iowa, DePaul, Arkansas, and Wheaton College.
